Jenny Holzer's First Portugal Solo Show 'Wrong Answers' Opens at Serralves

Jenny Holzer's first solo exhibition in Portugal, 'Wrong Answers,' opened at the Serralves Museum of Contemporary Art in Porto, running from June 18 to November 1, 2026. The site-specific retrospective spans Holzer's career, featuring spinning LED works, stone carvings, and text-based pieces. The exhibition directly addresses the Trump administration, with works like 'READY FOR YOU (2023–25)'—a gold canvas referencing the January 6th note to Trump. Inflammatory Essays (1979–82) and Truisms (1977–79) are displayed, with Truisms including an AI-generated portrait of Trump created via Gemini and ChatGPT, then spray-painted by Porto graffiti artist Kilo. Laments (1989) appears on stone benches, some of which Holzer smashed with a sledgehammer to frame LED signs. Curated by Philippe Vergne, the show is supported by Hauser & Wirth.
