Jaq Chartier's 'Variations' at Dolby Chadwick Gallery

From July 9 to August 22, 2026, the Dolby Chadwick Gallery will showcase 'Variations,' a solo exhibition featuring the latest creations by Jaq Chartier. In her artistic process, Chartier utilizes an eyedropper to apply custom inks and dyes onto specially prepared panels, resulting in bands, grids, and organic shapes reminiscent of laboratory test strips and natural phenomena, albeit without direct depiction. The application of layers of spray paint and acrylic resin modifies the colors, leading to their dispersion or separation. These pieces serve as documentation of material interactions, highlighting a unique alchemical method in painting.
