Jane Seymour's Malibu Closets: Custom Chanel, Escada Runway Samples

Actor Jane Seymour's Malibu closets house a vast collection of custom costumes and designer pieces accumulated over her career. The collection began when, after arriving on the set of the 1973 James Bond film Live and Let Die with minimal clothing, the production copied her own clothes for her Bond girl costumes. She subsequently negotiated contracts allowing her to keep all costumes from her films. Her closets now include custom Chanel period pieces by Karl Lagerfeld from The Sun Also Rises, boots from Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman, Nolan Miller dresses from Crossings, and runway samples from Escada, for which she became a muse. Seymour also owns a coat once belonging to June Carter Cash, embroidered by Maximilian New York, and Edwardian lace. She recalls borrowing Gianni Versace samples from Donatella Versace in the 1990s, including a sheer beaded jumpsuit worn for revenge dressing after a breakup. As a teenager, she embroidered sheer blouses for a shop on South Molton Street in Mayfair, London, forming a company called Bill Mill. Seymour still wears many of her vintage pieces and favors fitted clothing influenced by her ballet background.
