Jan Banning's Bureaucratics Revisited: Global Portraits of State Power

Dutch photographer Jan Banning has unveiled Bureaucratics Revisited, which revisits his earlier works and incorporates new pieces. The initial Bureaucratics, released in 2008, was the result of a five-year exploration across eight nations beginning in 2002, where Banning documented bureaucrats worldwide. Utilizing medium-format cameras, he produced environmental portraits that are noted for their square format and stark clarity, reflecting the contrast between governmental power and the personal environments of civil servants. Featured individuals include Sushma Prasad (b. 1962) from India, Don Albino d’Orlando in Italy, and Constantino Aya Viri Castro (b. 1950) from Bolivia, among others.
