James Golden Appointed Director of Tufts Museum Studies Program

Dr. James Golden has been named the new director of the Tufts Museum Studies program, succeeding Cynthia Robinson after her 18-year tenure. Golden brings extensive museum experience from previous roles as Director of Museum Education and Interpretation at Historic Deerfield and Education Director at the Mark Twain House. He holds advanced degrees from the University of Edinburgh and Oxford University. In his new position, Golden will teach courses including Museums Today and the Museum Interpretation Proseminar, while Robinson remains part-time during the transition. Golden aims to strengthen community within the program, leverage alumni networks, and prepare students for evolving museum careers. He emphasizes the value of diverse museum roles and practical experience in smaller institutions.
