Jake Guzman's 'Otherworldly America' Captures US Landscapes

Photographer Jake Guzman released 'Otherworldly America', a 256-page photography book featuring hundreds of images taken across 17 US states, from Alaska to New England. The project, developed with editor Alexander Rigby at Dorling Kindersley and published by Penguin Random House, took two years to complete. About 70% of the photos are new, shot during that period. Guzman, who has over a million Instagram followers, began photography at 18 with an iPhone and a $10 film camera from Goodwill, going full-time in 2016. He balances photo and video work to avoid burnout. The book includes favorites like Katmai National Park bears and Alaska landscapes. Guzman uses Sony a1 II with lenses including 70-200mm, 14mm f/1.8, 24-70mm, 200-600mm, and 400-800mm. The book is available for $40.
