Jago's Capri Exhibition at Villa Lysis Aims to Revitalize Historic Site and Support 2028 Bid

In June, Villa Lysis on Capri will host a solo exhibition by sculptor Jago, aligning with Capri's aspirations to become Italy's Capital of Contemporary Art by 2028. Born in Frosinone in 1987, Jago will showcase a variety of sculptures and installations that interact with the villa's elaborate interiors. Situated on Monte Tiberio, Villa Lysis is less popular among tourists and can be reached via a 40-minute walk. Jago's previous works in Naples, including the Jago Museum, have attracted a wide audience. The exhibition will feature a studio space aimed at encouraging year-round visits and reducing the stigma around seasonal tourism, with backing from Capri's local government. All installations will be designed to maintain the villa's historical significance.
