Itaú Cultural Hosts Teacher Workshop Tied to Solange Pessoa Retrospective in São Paulo
Thirty educators will gather on the ninth floor of Itaú Cultural on Avenida Paulista, 149, in São Paulo on 27 October 2026 for a free, in-person Encontro com Professores built around the work of Solange Pessoa. The session runs from 19h to 21h and is organized by the institution's cultural mediation department for teachers, students and professionals in art, culture and education. A reception snack and a guided tour of the exhibition "Solange Pessoa: outras escalas. Desenhos, filmes e instalação," led by Itaú Cultural educators, open the evening. Valéria Prates, an educator, researcher and the material's author, then presents the Caderno do Professor – Solange Pessoa, a teaching guide produced by the Enciclopédia Itaú Cultural with didactic sequences and transdisciplinary tools for lesson planning. Attendees receive a kit of pedagogical resources and a digital participation certificate. Registration is free via the official form, with leftover places available at the service desk 30 minutes before the start; the event offers Libras interpretation and wheelchair access, and is rated for ages 16 and up. The underlying show, which closes 1 November, surveys four decades of the Minas Gerais-born artist's practice and her investigation of nature, the body and the transformation of matter, bringing together roughly 150 previously unseen drawings, 10 experimental films and the new installation Campos peregrinos, shown earlier in Glasgow.
