Italy launches €1.4M fund for cultural projects in small towns

The Italian Ministry of Culture has initiated the 'Cultura nei piccoli comuni' public call, designating €1,445,000 for cultural initiatives in towns with populations under 25,000. This program, backed by the Mission Unit for Cultural Cooperation with Africa and the Olivetti Plan for Culture, seeks to address marginalization while fostering social cohesion, innovation, and economic growth. Angelo Piero Cappello, the Director General, highlighted the significance of the heritage found in small towns. The initiative targets five key areas: heritage valorization, local development, support for creative businesses, partnerships, and digital transformation.
