Italian Musician Fulminacci Releases Album 'Calcinacci' with Accompanying Feature Film
Italian singer-songwriter Fulminacci, whose real name is Filippo Uttinacci, has released his new album 'Calcinacci' alongside a cinematic companion piece. The Roman artist, born in 1997, recently participated in the 76th Sanremo Music Festival where he won the 'Mia Martini' Critics' Award and the Assomusica Sanremo 2026 prize for 'Best Live Performance by a Revelation Artist' with his song 'Stupida sfortuna'. His latest work represents his first venture into expanding a musical release into a full film. The album, produced with Golden Years and featuring collaborations with artists including Calcutta, Tutti Fenomeni, Franco126, and okgiorgio, explores themes of love's end through narrative-driven indie-pop with 1960s and 1970s influences. The accompanying medium-length film, directed by Bendo and Filiberto Signorello with co-writing by Fulminacci and Giovanni Nasta, features actors Pietro Sermonti and Francesco Montanari. The cinematic work serves as a metaphorical interpretation of the album's themes, presenting a surreal comedy about unfortunate events that ultimately bring characters together. Screenings have taken place in Rome, Naples, and Milan. Fulminacci, a graduate of the Gian Maria Volonté School of Cinematic Art, has emphasized that this project represents an autonomous artistic work rather than a simple visual accompaniment to music. The film is expected to be submitted to festivals, while the track 'Nulla di stupefacente' will serve as the soundtrack for the upcoming film 'Strike – Figli di un'era sbagliata', scheduled for release on March 26. This multimedia approach follows similar Italian projects by artists like Andrea Laszlo De Simone and Liberato, who have previously integrated film and music.
