Israeli Strike in South Lebanon Kills Four, Including Three Women

On Monday, a drone strike by Israel in Nabatieh al-Fawqa, southern Lebanon, resulted in the deaths of four individuals, including three women, despite an ongoing ceasefire with Hezbollah. The Lebanese National News Agency reported that the deceased were a school principal, her mother, a foreign domestic worker, and a Syrian male worker, all returning from a visit to their family home. The Israeli military claimed the strike targeted four suspects near an area under its control in southern Lebanon, asserting it was a precise action to neutralize a threat. Since the ceasefire began two weeks ago, intermittent Israeli strikes have persisted in the Nabatieh region, with both sides accusing one another of ceasefire violations. Hezbollah lawmaker Ihab Hamade condemned the attack as a brutal crime against civilians, attributing blame to the Lebanese government. Additionally, Hezbollah has criticized the recent Lebanon-Israel agreement aimed at achieving lasting peace.
