Israeli Military Reports Extensive Strikes in Lebanon with Significant Casualties

The Israeli military announced on Friday that it has conducted strikes on more than 3,500 targets across Lebanon over the past month, resulting in approximately 1,000 militant fatalities. According to Israeli statements, these operations targeted infrastructure associated with Hezbollah, including weapons storage sites, launch positions, and command centers. Lebanon's health ministry reported on Thursday that 1,345 individuals have been killed and 4,040 wounded since the conflict began, with casualties including 125 children and 53 healthcare workers. The ministry's breakdown indicates 1,129 men and 91 women among the deceased. The conflict escalated on March 2 when Hezbollah, backed by Iran, launched rocket attacks against Israel, which Israel describes as retaliation for a prior incident involving Iran's leadership. Israel's response has included widespread aerial strikes and ground operations. The hostilities have led to significant displacement within Lebanon, with over one million people reportedly forced from their homes in recent weeks.
