Isabel Rock Presents Dystopian Installation at Hastings Contemporary

Artist and climate activist Isabel Rock will present the exhibition 'Things Fall Apart, The Centre Cannot Hold' at Hastings Contemporary from September 27, 2025 to March 15, 2026. The show features an immersive installation with drawings, prints, sculptures, and stories depicting a post-human world inhabited by hybrid creatures. Rock's work addresses themes of capitalism, climate crisis, and authoritarian structures through a playful yet critical visual language. The exhibition originated from her winning the £10,000 Evelyn Williams Drawing Award in 2023. Rock's recent incarceration following Just Stop Oil protests informs the emotional core of the work, which explores drawing as a form of resistance and survival.
