Isabel + Helen's 'Motion Sickness' at The Conran Shop Marks a Decade of Playful Kinetic Design

Isabel + Helen, a creative studio established in 2016 by Isabel Gibson and Helen Chesner, is commemorating its tenth anniversary with the 'Motion Sickness' exhibition at The Conran Shop, located at 16 Sloane Square, from September 12 to 20, 2026, coinciding with the London Design Festival 2026. This exhibition highlights their fascination with movement through various mediums, including models, maquettes, films, and exclusive artworks, featuring kinetic optical sculptures like 'Blimps' and stools crafted from stained birch plywood. Gibson and Chesner first crossed paths in 2009 at Chelsea College of Art. Their work includes notable installations such as a 60-foot windmill at Coachella and partnerships with Craig Green, influenced by artists like Daniel Eatock and Julio Le Parc.
