Interactive coronation installation Our Wic comes to Berwick-upon-Tweed
Artist Lucy Wright's interactive installation Our Wic, produced by Arts&Heritage, invites visitors to crown themselves king or queen in Berwick-upon-Tweed from July 11 to 16. The work references the town's Tweed Salmon Queen tradition, which marks its 80th anniversary this year, and draws on the broader Northern English custom of crowning industry royalty. Participants don the Our Wic crown to perform their own coronation and claim territory. The name derives from the Anglo Saxon word for 'dwelling.'
