Instituto Comadre's MULTIPLICAR Project Funds Rio Shelter Renovation Through Art Sales

exhibition · 2026-03-27

The Instituto Comadre has launched the fourth edition of its MULTIPLICAR initiative, titled 'Multiplicar o Acolhimento,' which aims to raise funds for renovating the Abrigo das Meninas shelter in Rio de Janeiro. The project features 51 Brazilian contemporary artists, including both emerging and established figures, who are contributing fine art prints priced at R$ 320 each. Sales will occur online from March 31 to April 26, 2026, with 35% to 70% of proceeds directed toward the shelter's architectural redesign by Cité Arquitetura. Curated by Júlia Rebouças, Ulisses Carrilho, and Anna Bella Geiger, the effort demonstrates how art can drive social impact by connecting creative production with community support.
