Indonesia Announces Return to Venice Biennale in 2026 After Six-Year Absence

Indonesia will participate in the 61st Venice Biennale in 2026 following a six-year break from the event. The national pavilion, curated by Aminudin TH Siregar of Jakarta's National Gallery of Indonesia, will feature an exhibition called 'Printing the Unprinted' that examines cultural identity through archival materials and contemporary works by 14 emerging artists. The presentation will be held at the Scuola Internazionale di Grafica in Venice from May 9 to November 22. Indonesian Minister of Culture Fadli Zon stated the participation offers a chance to promote the country's cultural talents internationally. Indonesia last appeared at the 58th Venice Biennale in 2019 with a presentation curated by Asmudjo Jono Irianto.
