Ina Sarikhani Weston to Chair National Portrait Gallery from 2026

Ina Sarikhani Weston has been appointed as the upcoming Chair of the Board of Trustees for the National Portrait Gallery in London, as per the Museums and Galleries Act 1992. She is set to take on this position in October 2026, following Interim Chair Professor Shearer West. Weston is the co-founder, director, and curator of The Sarikhani Collection, which emphasizes Iranian art and facilitates loans, exhibitions, research, publications, and philanthropic efforts, including academic roles. She has established strong connections with various institutions across the UK, Europe, and the US. Additionally, Weston is a founding member of the International Council at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York and serves as a Visiting Member in its Ancient Near Eastern department.
