Hyperacustica Unveils Persona Sound System at Spazio Cavea
On July 10, Hyperacustica will debut the Persona sound system at Spazio Cavea in Rome, a renovated Turbosound TSE from the 1990s discovered in a Civitavecchia warehouse. The 12-hour event features Egyptian label irsh with founders ZULI and Rama, plus Hyperacustica members 42 Cent Hotline, Mira Vivian, and Leonardo Metz, alongside Rome staples Akii and Portamento. Installations by Farmers Of Futures and Blivet, and a stand by L863 complete the program. The sound system, rebuilt with technician Sandro, replaces a physical space for the collective, allowing nomadic operation amid Rome's club closures and political pressure. Hyperacustica views the system as a weapon from below against repression, referencing Steve Goodman's Sonic Warfare. The crew, mostly from outside Rome, plans a tour to Naples, Bologna, Milan, and Rome, with a permanent setup possible by 2028.
