Hungarian Design Showcase Patterns of Being Debuts at Milan Design Week 2026

exhibition · 2026-04-08

Budapest Select, a creative platform, presents Patterns of Being, an exhibition featuring 65 projects by 26 Hungarian designers and brands during Milan design week from April 21 to 26, 2026. Curated by arts consultant Hanna Imre, the show is organized by Creative Hungary, formerly the Hungarian Fashion & Design Agency, and marks Budapest Select's fifth consecutive appearance in Milan. Located at Via Olmetto 1 in the 5VIE design district, the exhibition explores five themes—current, aspiration, fate, cycle, and responsibility—through multidisciplinary works addressing technological, social, and ecological questions. Founded in 2018, Budapest Select aims to increase international visibility for Hungarian design, with this showcase emphasizing ethical awareness and the intersection of design and art in shaping human existence. The projects collectively examine the evolving relationship between humans and their environment, offering reflective rather than speculative responses to contemporary challenges.
