Huawei founder Ren Zhengfei endorses Tau Scaling Law to bypass US chip sanctions

Huawei founder Ren Zhengfei has publicly backed the Tau Scaling Law, a new chip architecture framework, as essential for the company's survival amid US sanctions. In internal remarks posted on Huawei's Xinsheng Community intranet and reported by state-backed Science and Technology Daily, the 81-year-old entrepreneur stated that the law is the only path for Huawei to break the siege. Unlike competitors with multiple technological routes, Huawei's adoption stems from necessity, not ambition to disrupt industry norms. Ren revealed that tens of thousands of employees spent six years iterating on the architecture, which is now maturing. This marks Ren's first endorsement since the Tau Scaling Law was unveiled in May by He Tingbo, president of Huawei's semiconductor arm HiSilicon. Ren's quotes also preface a new book on Huawei's management philosophy by consultant Tian Tao. Huawei did not respond to a request for comment.
