Huang Rui's 'East, West—Space Is Time' Solo Exhibition Opens at SPURS Gallery in Beijing

In Beijing, the SPURS Gallery is currently showcasing a solo exhibition by the talented Huang Rui, named 'East, West—Space Is Time,' running until April 19, 2026. The display includes his latest works, such as the installation 'Dongzhimen and Xizhimen' and the 'Twenty-Four Solar Terms' paper series, along with new 'Void Space' paintings that reflect on his pieces from the 1980s. Born in 1952, Huang Rui is a key figure in the artist group Xingxing and has contributed to important exhibitions. His artwork blends Eastern philosophical ideas with Western modernism, influenced by his life in the city and classical literature. There's also a Poetry Room featuring readings from Bei Dao, Gu Cheng, and Hai Zi. His art has been seen at UCCA and the Guggenheim Museum.
