Houthi Missiles Target Saudi Arabia, Breaking Four-Year Truce

On Monday, Yemen's Houthi movement launched missiles at Saudi Arabia, violating an informal ceasefire that had been in place since March 2022. This assault occurred shortly after the Houthis accused Saudi Arabia of striking Sanaa airport. A spokesperson for the Saudi-led coalition reported that missiles aimed at the southern region were intercepted. Houthi military spokesperson Yahya Saree stated that their targets included Abha International Airport, a significant site in the southern mountainous area near Yemen. This marks the first Houthi claim of attacks on Saudi Arabia since the truce began, following earlier assaults on Saudi energy facilities. The recent escalation raises concerns about renewed conflict along Saudi Arabia's southern border.
