ai-technology · 2026-10-16

The Hong Kong Productivity Council (HKPC) has launched the Embodied AI International Applications Hub at the HKPC Building in Kowloon Tong. The hub, part of HKPC's industrial AI and robotics centre, involves seven robotics companies, including Unitree Robotics and Galbot. It features simulated real-world environments for companies to test and optimize robotic designs before global roll-outs. At the opening ceremony, HKPC chairman Sunny Tan said, "Hong Kong’s application scenarios have an international characteristic," adding that mainland robot manufacturers can train their robots for international scenarios without leaving the country. Secretary for Innovation, Technology and Industry Sun Dong called the hub a major milestone in Hong Kong's efforts to align with national initiatives in embodied AI and robotics, and pledged further government support. The hub aims to position Hong Kong in the global robotics boom by providing a testing ground for international applications.
