institutional · 2026-10-15

Grace Cheung has been leading the Hong Foundation's contemporary art program since it launched in 2014. Established in 1971 by Hong Chien Chuan, who also founded a major home electronics brand in Taiwan, the foundation is set to celebrate its 55th anniversary this November. Cheung, who is the daughter-in-law of executive director Celia Hong, started the visual arts initiative 12 years ago. With a strong cultural impact in Taiwan, the foundation has sponsored over 14 performances of Cloud Gate Dance Theatre and hosted a children’s literature award for 18 years. Recently, it has begun international collaborations and is constructing its own facility while supporting artists like Li Yi-Fan and Chang Shu-Wei, focusing on the balance between technology and human artistry.
