HK Associates Inc Designs Sonoran Desert Home for Family of Five in Arizona

In 2023, HK Associates Inc finalized the Real House, a 3,223-square-foot home tailored for a family of five. Architects Kathy Hancox and Michael Kothke encountered difficulties due to the site’s lack of views, situated beside a busy road and a dry creek. Although they initially aimed for property in the foothills, they turned these challenges into advantages, unveiling a striking sightline along the creek and capturing vistas of the Santa Catalina Mountains. Structural engineering was provided by Harris Engineering Services, while Mechanical Engineering Consultants, LLC handled mechanical systems, and Matthews Consulting & Design, Inc. managed electrical work. LeMarr Construction and Premier Custom Builders oversaw general contracting, with Ema Peter Photography documenting the project and Hadir Al Koshta curating various brand products.
