Hideki Noda's –320°F Premieres at Sadler's Wells

Hideki Noda OBE's new play –320°F (Minus Three Twenty Fahrenheit) runs from 3rd to 11th July 2026 at Sadler's Wells in London. The work takes the end of history as its starting point, exploring the power of language to shape social reality. Noda combines absurdist humour with feverish philosophy, asking timeless questions in novel ways. The narrative unwinds seemingly evident givens, returning them to history in a cycle of repetition. Characters include a Mephisto figure who oscillates between controlling and being victimized by time. The play references Faust (here called 'Moust') and uses 'angel bones' as a naturalistic thread. Noda's lens is archaeological, treating the vestige of the cutting edge. The production is categorized as contemporary dance, contemporary theatre, and Japanese theatre.
