French author and illustrator Hervé Tullet (born 1958 in Avranches) has published a new memoir titled "Il bambino a colori" (The Colorful Child) with Italian publisher il Saggiatore. Unlike his approximately 80 children's books, this work offers a detailed account of his creative process. Tullet's artistic language is built from recurring marks: dots, lines, stains, and scribbles. The memoir narrates his formative journey from a transparent child in the postwar era who left drawings under doors as gifts, to the creator of a highly personal style.
