Hermès Autumn/Winter 2026 Show Dances Solo in Hollywood Hills

Hermès staged its annual 'Act II' show in the Hollywood Hills, an out-of-season and out-of-comfort-zone spectacular. Creative director Nadège Vanhée drew inspiration from scruffy satin ballet slippers, connecting dance with fashion through craftsmanship, expertise, and rigour. The collection featured pointe shoe details like strapping and ankle ribbons, slick wool-silk satin duchesse in Technicolor shades, and leather jackets recalling Nudie's Rodeo tailoring. Vanhée also incorporated Hermès' carré scarves into fluid silk-velvet dresses. The show was held in an open-sided yellow pavilion against green hills, echoing modernist architecture and ephemeral 18th-century French ballrooms. Los Angeles was an unexpected locale, but Hermès opened its first US outpost there in 1972 after a short-lived 1930 New York opening. The collection included quiet looks in asphalt black with pleats, smocking, beads, and sequins, and a short jacket hand-woven on Venetian looms. Vanhée's couture debut is unofficially slated for next year.
