Hercules & Love Affair Release Danseur PT 2, Honoring Queer Nightlife Icons
Andy Butler's project, Hercules & Love Affair, has released Danseur PT 2 via Stratasonic Records, completing an eight-track journey into transatlantic club culture. This latest installment features collaborations with Elín Ey from Hips & Lips and Quinn Whalley of Paranoid London, reuniting after last year's Someone Else Is Calling. While the first part emphasized the energy of the dancefloor, PT 2 delves into deeper, more reflective subjects. Notable contributors include Faris Badwan from The Horrors on "Pirouette" and "Heaven," Hips & Lips on "Night on the Town," and Albrecht Van Doornik on "Flip Flop." The album also pays tribute to queer history, remembering two women from the 1960s, along with producer SOPHIE and Aerea Negrot. The physical release honors Jeffrey Hinton and features unique nightlife memorabilia. Danseur PT 2 is now out.
