Hélia Paukner Named Director of macLYON and Lyon Biennale
Hélia Paukner has just been named the new director of macLYON and the artistic director for the Lyon Biennale, stepping in for Isabelle Bertolotti, who has been in these roles since 2018. Before this, Paukner was at Mucem – the Museum of European and Mediterranean Civilisations in Marseille, where she served as curator and head of contemporary art since 2019. This position brings her back to Lyon, where she previously worked as a research assistant at the Musée des Beaux-Arts de Lyon. In her new role, she'll choose curators for each biennale, with the current edition, led by Catherine Nichols, running until December 13. Additionally, she'll oversee the Lyon Dance Biennale, which alternates years with the art biennale.
