Havana's Confucius Institute Marks Eight Years of Cultural Exchange

The Confucius Institute in Havana commemorated its eighth anniversary with a ceremony attended by Chinese Ambassador Chen Xi and University of Havana Rector Gustavo Cobreiro. Established in 2009 through an agreement between China's Confucius Institute Headquarters and the University of Havana, the institute has expanded Chinese language education in Cuba. Recent relocation to Havana's Chinatown in 2015 significantly increased enrollment to 950 students across various age groups. The institute has facilitated academic exchanges, with approximately 50 students receiving scholarships to study in China over four years.
