Hauser & Wirth to Represent Carol Rama Estate with New York Exhibition

The gallery Hauser & Wirth has taken on representation of the estate of Italian artist Carol Rama, who passed away in 2015. Gallery leadership including Iwan Wirth, Manuela Wirth, and Marc Payot made the announcement. Galerie Isabella Bortolozzi will maintain representation in Berlin. A solo presentation of Rama's work is scheduled to debut in May at Hauser & Wirth's New York location. Rama's practice spanned painting, sculpture, drawing, and printmaking, frequently incorporating unconventional materials and addressing themes of sexuality, physicality, and mortality. Though active for nearly eighty years, she gained significant recognition later in her career.
