Harn Museum exhibition explores Florida's artistic allure through century of works from Vickers collection

At the University of Florida, the Harn Museum of Art is showcasing 'Florida in the Frame: A Century of Artists' Reflections on the Sunshine State,' which explores artistic interpretations of Florida's natural beauty, history, and cultural elements. This exhibition features works sourced from The Florida Art Collection, a generous donation of 1,200 pieces by Samuel H. and Roberta T. Vickers, highlighting creations from around 1850 to 1950. Dr. Lee Anne Chesterfield, the Museum Director, expressed appreciation for the Vickers' contribution, emphasizing the collection's inclusion of international artists inspired by Florida's allure. The exhibition will run from April 10 to July 26, 2026, showcasing the state's lasting influence on American artists over the past century.
