Han Yong's 'Landscape As Body' Opens at Galerie Urs Meile

Galerie Urs Meile has inaugurated 'Landscape As Body', the inaugural exhibition of works by Han Yong (b. 1978) at the gallery. The show assembles pieces from various periods of Han's career, reflecting his life experiences and the shifting relationship between the artist and his environment. Han's artistic practice operates at the intersection of his physical being, spiritual self, and the landscapes he inhabits, probing the connections between the external world and his personal feelings, emotions, and memories. Born in Yanbian, a region on the border of northeastern China, Han's upbringing in this geographically and culturally distinct area has afforded him a broader perspective, free from the constraints of traditional inland Chinese cultural frameworks. While studying painting at Yanbian University, he aspired to engage with art-historical dialogues and immerse himself in the broader discourse of art. The exhibition is currently on view at Galerie Urs Meile, marking a significant milestone in Han Yong's career as he presents his work to a wider audience.
