Hamburger Kunsthalle Launches PRISMA Initiative to Institutionalize Diversity and Community Engagement

The Hamburger Kunsthalle has launched the PRISMA initiative to structurally embed and expand successful measures for greater diversity and participation within its organization. The museum aims to establish a clear internal structure that raises awareness of diversity's opportunities and challenges, enables staff participation, and promotes authentic opening of the institution and its offerings to the broader urban society. Founded in the mid-19th century by citizens as a museum for citizens, the Hamburger Kunsthalle's collection spans over 800 years of Western art history. This collection serves as the starting point for an international exhibition program that examines art in its historical context from a contemporary perspective. The initiative seeks to facilitate encounters between people and art to see the world anew and differently.
