Hadassah Emmerich presents Velvet Lava Lotus at COSAR Gallery in Düsseldorf

From March 20 to May 9, 2026, COSAR Gallery in Düsseldorf will showcase "Velvet Lava Lotus," a solo exhibition featuring the work of Hadassah Emmerich. Born in 1974 in Heerlen, Netherlands, Emmerich currently resides in Brussels after her education in Maastricht, Antwerp, and London. She employs hand-cut vinyl stencils on canvas, merging painting, printmaking, and installation techniques. Her art delves into themes of body, identity, and ornamentation, drawing inspiration from Indonesian batik and Art Deco. The exhibition will include immersive wall installations spanning several floors. Emmerich’s Dutch-Indonesian background shapes her exploration of decorative languages, with her works held in collections like the Rijksmuseum Amsterdam and public murals in Rotterdam, Groningen, and Jakarta.
