Gwyneth Keyworth, the Welsh actress known for her role in BBC's Death Valley, expressed that receiving her ADHD diagnosis two years ago made her feel incredibly fortunate to pursue acting. She resonates with her neurodiverse character, detective Janie Mallowan, in the series. Keyworth, who has also been featured in Game of Thrones, Black Mirror, and The Crown, noted that traits associated with ADHD, such as spontaneous thinking and being chatty, benefit her profession. Growing up in Aberystwyth during the 1990s, discussions about ADHD, particularly in women, were uncommon. Her school reports indicated she was 'dreamy, talkative, and brimming with ideas but struggled to finish reading.' Teachers ultimately provided her with additional time.
