Gustavo Nazareno Presents Afro-Brazilian Spiritual Works at Paris Gallery Exhibition

Artist Gustavo Nazareno is presenting a collection of paintings and charcoal drawings at Opera Gallery Paris from June 24 to July 17, 2026. The exhibition, titled 'How to Grow a Flower from a Supernova,' explores Afro-Brazilian spiritual traditions through the lens of fashion and cosmic imagery. Nazareno's work incorporates elements from Candomblé, particularly focusing on the feminine figure Pombagira, while drawing inspiration from fashion photography and designers like Alexander McQueen. The exhibition coincides with Paris Couture Week and represents a shift in the artist's practice toward imagined planetary environments. Nazareno, born in Três Pontas and based in São Paulo, has exhibited internationally at institutions including Museu Afro Brasil and Pérez Art Museum Miami.
