Grolier Club's 1,000th Exhibition Celebrates 50 Years of Dieu Donné Hand Papermaking

In celebration of its 1,000th exhibition, the Grolier Club in New York will kick off its 2026–2027 season with a showcase focused on modern American hand papermaking. The exhibition, titled 'Pioneers in Hand Papermaking: 50 Years of Innovation at Dieu Donné', is scheduled to take place from September 8 to November 28, 2026, in the Ground Floor Gallery. This event commemorates the 50th anniversary of Dieu Donné Papermill, a non-profit studio located in the Brooklyn Navy Yard, which has been a pioneer in the grassroots hand papermaking movement since the 1970s. Featuring over 110 pieces from the collections of Susan Gosin, a Grolier Club member and co-founder of Dieu Donné, as well as the Dieu Donné Archive & Collection, the exhibition underscores the innovative methods and artistic partnerships that have characterized the studio's five decades of work.
