Grazer Kunstverein to Present First Institutional Show of Martin Maloney

Starting on September 17 and running until December 13, 2026, the Grazer Kunstverein in Austria will host the first major exhibition dedicated to the late Martin Maloney (1938–2003), a conceptual artist. The opening night is set for September 17 from 6 to 8 PM. Although Maloney wasn’t a mainstream figure, he was well-integrated into the 1960s New York art world as Conceptual art gained traction. He took part in Seth Siegelaub's pivotal "25 Show" in 1966 and exhibited in various key group shows, including at Galerie Konrad Fischer. Maloney’s connections included sharing a studio with Lawrence Weiner and receiving Christmas cards from Sol LeWitt, while Dan Graham once commented on his character in a memorable way. This exhibition aims to highlight Maloney’s overlooked contributions to art.
