Google Pics: AI Image Creation and Editing Comes to Workspace

Google has unveiled Google Pics, an innovative AI-driven tool for creating and editing images, now part of Google Workspace. Meg Whittenberger, the Product Manager for Google Pics, announced that the tool utilizes the Nano Banana model for image generation and editing. It provides users with detailed control through features such as object segmentation, in-image text editing and translation, collaboration, and the ability to generate multiple versions from a single prompt. Google Pics will be accessible as a standalone product and will be integrated into Workspace applications, starting with Slides, Docs, and Drive. The integration with Docs and Slides is effective immediately, while Drive will follow in the upcoming weeks. The rollout to all Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers, along with most Workspace business customers, will occur over the next few weeks. Users can access the tool at pics.new.
