Giosetta Fioroni's Word-Image Dialogue at Palazzo Franchetti, Venice

exhibition · 2026-06-24

The exhibition 'Giosetta Fioroni. Il futuro è uscito dal passato. Immagini e parole' at ACP – Palazzo Franchetti in Venice, running until August 2, explores the artist's lifelong interplay between text and image. Fioroni, the only woman associated with the Scuola di Piazza del Popolo alongside Schifano, Festa, and Angeli, presents artist books, ceramics, and works on paper that treat language as visual material. The show is organized by ACP – Palazzo Franchetti by Fondazione Calarota, Fondazione Goffredo Parise, and the artist herself, with support from Galleria d’Arte Maggiore g.a.m. It highlights her collaboration with writer Goffredo Parise and includes pieces referencing poets Andrea Zanzotto and Guido Ceronetti. Ceramics from Bottega Gatti in Faenza transform books into sculptural objects. Her iconic 'Argenti' series from the 1960s is also featured. The title 'Il futuro è uscito dal passato' frames her practice as a continuous reinterpretation of memory.
