Giorgio Griffa's first US solo museum show at Clark Art Institute

The Clark Art Institute in Williamstown, Massachusetts, will host the first solo museum exhibition in the United States for Italian artist Giorgio Griffa (born 1936, Turin). Titled 'Giorgio Griffa: Paths in the Forest,' the show runs from June 13 to October 12, 2026, in the Lunder Center at Stone Hill. It coincides with the artist's ninetieth birthday. Director Olivier Meslay noted the Clark's resonance with Griffa's historical references and engagement with nature. Curator Robert Wiesenberger emphasized the ecological dimensions of Griffa's work, calling it 'bracingly contemporary' despite the artist's self-identification as a classical painter.
