Giles Duley's War Photography Pop-Up Opens in Manhattan Penthouse
From May 12 to 24, 2026, British photographer Giles Duley will showcase his pop-up exhibition, Distortion/Memory/Resilience, in a penthouse on the 77th floor of Sutton Tower, New York. This exhibition contrasts images from both historical and contemporary conflicts to examine the recurring nature of violence. Duley, who previously worked in fashion photography, lost both legs and an arm due to a landmine incident in Afghanistan. In 2017, he established the Legacy of War Foundation, which operates in Ukraine, Lebanon, and Rwanda. The exhibition features three installations: Youth (2026), Childhood, and Memory, along with a side-by-side display of iconic photographs. Duley will also host benefit dinners on May 19 and 21.
