Gilbert & George's London Exhibition Honors Friend George Crompton with Rare Works

Launching on May 1, 2026, at the Gilbert & George Centre in London, the exhibition titled 'Our George Crompton, WORLDS and WINDOWS' pays tribute to George Crompton, a dear friend who faced homelessness and offered critiques of the artists' work for over thirty years. It includes two pieces created during the pandemic: CROMPTON STREET, which has never been shown before, and NUMBER TWELVE, previously exhibited at the Hayward Gallery. The exhibition also revisits the 1989 WORLDS and WINDOWS series, last seen in 1990, along with THE URETHRA POSTCARD ART from 2009, featuring 564 works. The display will continue until 2027, highlighting art as a celebration of lives and friendships.
