GGR Architectes Designs New School Complex in Pechbonnieu After Carbon Analysis
GGR architectes has designed a new educational complex in Pechbonnieu, France, scheduled for completion in 2025. Originally planned as a renovation and expansion of an existing school, the project shifted to new construction after a carbon cost analysis during the competition phase. The existing building was deemed unsuitable for sustainable transformation, so demolition will free land for broader urban development. The 4,502-square-meter facility will unify primary and preschool education, allowing children to learn together from early ages. The project maintains the original budget while enabling more comprehensive community planning scenarios.
