George Widener's Mathematical Artwork Reflects Ukraine War Experience

Artist George Widener, known for blending mathematical precision with personal narrative, has created new works based on his time volunteering in Ukraine. Hirschl & Adler Modern is presenting these pieces in an exhibition titled 'The Heart of War: George Widener’s Ukraine' from March 19 to April 24, 2026. The seven multimedia works on paper were completed after his return to the United States in late 2025, offering abstract interpretations of the conflict's emotional impact through symbolic elements and numerical systems.
