GAZAL Releases Third EP 'HOW DO WOMEN FLY?', Self-Produced Across Sydney, Bali and Los Angeles
Lebanese Australian alt-pop artist GAZAL has released a six-track EP titled HOW DO WOMEN FLY?, the third installment in a continuing narrative of reclamation. The record follows her 2023 debut I Accidentally Burnt The House Down and 2025's Gods Into Frauds, and was written between Sydney, Bali, and Los Angeles. GAZAL co-produced the EP with Aidan Hogg, naebird, and Ryan Harvey while also running The Artist Studio Sydney, and she kept the track 'Eat Dirt' for herself after it spent six months on hold for Stray Kids. The EP examines performative behaviour, unsolicited advice, and scripted apologies, themes GAZAL describes as recurring patterns among men who made her feel small — from the man who explains how to cut an onion to the apology that sounds like a greeting card. In her own words, decoding those scripts is the moment 'you lift off the ground.' She calls the record 'petty and funny' and also her most honest work, citing 'Pick Up Truck' as the song she can barely sing and 'Onion,' whose first line is 'shut the fk up.' GAZAL says the aim is for women to feel 'like they've got a big sister in the car with them,' adding that softness and sharpness need not be mutually exclusive. She was named to Rolling Stone Australia's Fresh Sounds Class of 2026 and Live Nation's Ones To Watch. The EP is out now.
