The project began when a gallery designer spoke with a parent whose child has this condition, prompting research into accessibility. For a visit by a young art enthusiast with achromatopsia and photophobia, the gallery reproduced colorful artworks in monochrome prints to create a shared viewing experience. This approach shifts focus from color to elements like light, contrast, texture, and form, encouraging new descriptive language that emphasizes atmosphere and sensation rather than hue names.
